FAQ
Answers to what producers, broadcasters and organisers usually ask before booking a crew, a signal setup or a delivery.
Frequently asked questions
These are the questions we hear most often before a job. If yours is not here, write to us through the contact page and we will answer in plain terms.
01 What kinds of events do you cover?
We work on live concerts, festivals, stage events, party events and news gathering. Our crews and engineers also set up temporary outside broadcast feeds on location. If your event is of a different kind, describe it to us and we will say honestly whether it suits our work.
02 Can you work with the broadcaster's own technical requirements?
Yes. Priya Nair collects the formats, resolutions and delivery times the receiving broadcaster asks for and confirms them in writing before the job. We test the output against those specifications during rehearsal, so there are no surprises when the feed goes out.
03 What happens if a signal link fails during a live feed?
Daniel Whitcombe plans backup routes for every job and checks them before doors open. If a primary link fails, the feed moves to the backup path while we investigate. We cannot promise that nothing ever goes wrong, but we do plan for it.
04 How early do you need to be involved?
As early as you can manage. A site visit or a call about the running order, camera positions and power gives us time to plan the signal path properly. For larger events, a few weeks is comfortable, though shorter notice is sometimes possible.
05 Do you provide the cameras and cabling?
Our crews bring the kit needed for the agreed job, including cameras, cabling and monitoring. What is included is written into the quotation, so you can see exactly what we supply and what the venue or organiser needs to provide.
06 Can you deliver a finished feed after the event?
Yes. Content distribution covers delivery of finished feeds to news programmes and television broadcasters in the formats they request. We schedule the delivery with the receiving desk and confirm once the files or stream have arrived.
07 Where are you based and where do you travel?
We are based at 14 Quayside Yard in Ipswich and work mainly across the East of England. We also travel further for suitable jobs. Travel and accommodation are discussed during quotation and written into the confirmation.
08 How do I get a quotation?
Send an enquiry through the contact page with the date, place, type of event and what you need delivered. We reply with questions if anything is unclear, then send a written quotation that you can accept in writing.
