The people who keep every feed steady

Three specialists cover direction, signal paths and delivery, so each job has a named person responsible for it from first rehearsal to final handover.

Who you will be working with

Our core team covers live video, signal engineering and distribution. Each of them stays involved in a job from planning to handover, so you deal with the same people throughout.

How we work

How the team shares the work on a job

Every job starts with a conversation about what the feed is for and who receives it. Helen Marsh looks at the venue, the camera positions and the running order, and decides how many operators the event needs and where they should stand.

Daniel Whitcombe then designs the signal path. He decides how the pictures travel from the cameras to the mixer and out to the broadcaster, and where the backup routes sit so a single failure does not take the feed off air.

Priya Nair checks the formats and delivery times the receiving broadcaster asks for, and confirms them in writing before the day. She is also the person who hands the finished feed over and confirms that it has arrived.

On the day, the three stay in contact through a shared channel. Questions about picture, signal or delivery go to the person who owns that part, which keeps decisions quick and calm even when the schedule changes.

After the event we go through what happened with the client: what worked, what we would change for next time, and what should be prepared earlier. These notes feed into the plan for the next job.

What each person owns

  • Helen Marsh: camera crews, vision mixing and replay
  • Daniel Whitcombe: signal routing, monitoring and backups
  • Priya Nair: formats, delivery schedules and handover
  • Shared: rehearsal, call sheets and on-site communication
  • Shared: written notes after each job
  • Shared: one named contact for every client
